Santa Maria a Monte is a fascinating village. One of a kind, I would say.
Looking at it from above, we can see the unique shape of a snail. Walking through the village's narrow streets, it feels like you are leisurely spiralling back in time.
Along the way, ancient stories unfold before your eyes: secret passages, a naturally purified water cistern, thousand year old walls, archaeological sites. There is so much to know and discover about our little town. We are very proud of our history. So proud that the city organizes free guided visits of the medieval main sites, passages and cultural landmarks during the months of July and August.
